Detectives are in pursuit of the suspect who is said to have killed the woman who went to visit a family property on Ole Sena road.

The 58-year-old woman allegedly sent her husband a distressing message about midday that read, "I am dying."

The husband, who was at this time in Nairobi, notified his neighbors, who hurried to the property to find out what was going on after making frantic attempts to call his wife.

The neighbors on reaching the place searched the entire property but were unable to locate her despite the woman's Toyota Voxy being parked close to the family's unfinished house.

A neighbor reported that they discovered the woman’s body tied with ropes in one of the farmhand's living quarters.

"We found her with a rope on her neck. The rope was tied to the bed. Her legs and arms were also tied with a rope. It was a horrifying scene," the neighbor said.

According to Kibiko Location Chief James Kariuki, the woman is well-known in the community because she frequently visits the land with her husband.

The woman’s phone was missing from the scene and the location chief said that it is believed the farmhand took the phone with him after committing the horrifying crime.

The motive behind his act is yet to be established and it was unclear if any personal belongings, including money, were taken.

"Immediately I received the distress call, I rushed to the scene. We suspect the farmhand killed her boss but we did not establish the motive of the killing," Kariuki said.

Her body was moved to the Montezuma mortuary.
