The politician resorted to social media to post the DCI's notice, which instructed him to go to the DCI offices on Tuesday, April 5.

Junet had accompanied the former Prime Minister to Jackson Kibor's burial in Uasin Gishu County and was one of the first to report the occurrence on Friday, April 1, stating that the attackers tried to kill them.

As the inquiry into the incident continues, Junet will be the fourth politician to be summoned.

The police had initially summoned Soy MP Caleb Kositany, his Kapseret counterpart Oscar Sudi, and Uasin Gishu County speaker David Kiplagat a day after the attack. The three leaders were accused of causing the mayhem.

The trio, on the other hand, refuted the charges, claiming that they were singled out for political purposes. They reported to the Nakuru DCI headquarters on Sunday, April 3, and were subjected to a five-hour interrogation.

The police have currently captured 17 people in connection with the case. They'll be charged with attempted murder, malicious damage to property, and incitement.

While recounting the incident, Raila stated that he and his comrades were challenged by noisy youngsters as they attempted to depart Mzee Kibor's burial.

He went on to say that the youths meticulously targeted the side of him that he was seated on, but that they were able to flee to safety.

"While in the chopper, I noticed someone aiming a large stone at me. He tossed the stone in no time, and I had nowhere to hide. They intended to assassinate us, "At a gathering in West Pokot, Raila declared.
