The Village Wife's Letter In The City

Love will forever be the most beautiful thing life has for all of us. You're not any different from the village wife.

Dear Love

I greet you in Jesus' name hoping that you're keeping safe. How's life in the city treating you? Do you miss my cooking? I miss us going to bathe at River Mapenzi.

We are also doing good apart from our chicken which broke her leg when I was chasing her after scooping Aenon's last beef piece. The village is quite peaceful and so green. Many people have passed on since you were last here but I thank God that He gave us today. Onyango was also slapped by a night runner when he was going to meet his girlfriend, the daughter of Onyam Nyothoche

Babe, am writing to let you know that Mama's house is leaking when it rains. I think we should look for grass and add another layer as you are still preparing to replace it with iron sheets. She said she can even see the moon clearly from her bed and that's heartbreaking. Our house is almost falling too. The same night runner who slapped Onyango kicked outdoor and some parts of the wall fell to the ground but I can wait for next season so I can sell the farm produce and build our house. Papa and I bought a calf so that it can keep him busy instead of wallowing in his own thoughts of this life.

Lots of love from me and our baby. He's missing your plays and company. I read that a lot from his eyes whenever he's quiet. We pray for you every day my love. Pray for us too honeybunch and focus always
Keep hustling hard the father to my children, one day we shall build our empire even if it's a house built of cow dung. As long as we are happy, nothing else matters

Your's sincerely
Awuor Nyar god Mesa
