12-Year-Old Boy Commits Suicide

It was unclear why the boy, a student at Mungeti Secondary School in Kanduyi constituency's Tuti Marakaru ward, chose to commit suicide.

After his parents divorced, Prince Wafula, 12, resided with his maternal grandmother Judy Wafula.

The body of the youngster was discovered swinging from the ceiling in the sitting room of his cousin's house, which is right next door to hers.

The incident brought Nabwela hamlet to a halt, with residents flocking to the family's home to express their condolences and inquire as to what had prompted the kid to act so rashly.

About ten years ago, the boy's parents divorced, and his mother remarried, leaving him in the care of his grandma.

Anne Wafula, his cousin, informed journalists that his family had just returned from tilling their farm when they learned the tragic news.

"We were outdoors relaxing under a tree when our grandmother came running up to us weeping, only to find Prince had hanged himself," she explained.

She stated that they did not know what motivated the boy to commit suicide.

"He had never had a disagreement with anyone. He cherished his alone time in the house "she stated

Police have initiated an investigation, according to Kanduyi sub-county Police Commander Benjamin Kimwele.

Bungoma County Referral Hospital's morgue received the body.
