72 Years Jail Term Looms for Mathira MP Gachagua
Mathira member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua might face 72 years jail term should the State prove the six corruption charges leveled against him.

This is after he was accused of acquiring 7.3 billion from proceeds of crime between 2013 and 2020.
The counts include conspiracy to commit an offense of corruption, fraudulent acquisition of public property, money laundering.
Rigathi may soon face the same axe that caught up with Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke after the Asset Recovery Team put him on spot over what is believed to be huge amounts of unaccounted money in the MP’s accounts.
Currently, one of the Mp`s bank account has been frozen for one week following an ongoing criminal investigation by the Assets and Recovery Agency (ARA).
However, Mp Rigathi was released on Monday 26th after he was granted a cash bail of Sh12 million with an alternative Sh25 million bond in a case that was facing him among other graft charges.
