Babu Owino Threatens To Leave Twitter After Giant Social Media App Verified His Parody Account
Babu Owino is among high-profile personalities in leadership positions whose Twitter accounts are yet to be verified. Orange Democratic Movement (ODM ) leader Raila Odinga's son Raila Odinga Junior is among Kenyans who have been denied a Twitter verification blue badge. The blue verified badge on Twitter lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic. Outspoken Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has threatened to exit Twitter after the social media giant verified his parody account.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the youthful politician who doesn't shy away from controversy said that he would not settle for less.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) lawmaker said that Twitter had erred by verifying the fake account under his name.
''That is a fake account; that is not my account. That is a pseudo account, and I would like to distance myself from it,'' Babu said in a short video clip posted on his social media platforms. He said that any information Kenyans would get from the "fake account doesn’t belong to him". ''Scammers went and forged my ID then used it to verify that fake account so ignore it,'' Babu explained.
