DP Ruto Accuses Raila Of Looting 'Kazi Kwa Vijana Money' When He Was PM

DP William Ruto responds to attacks from ODM leader Raila Odinga over corruption allegations. Ruto said money for youth was looted during Raila's tenure as PM. He also accused the opposition leader of involvement in the KEMSA scandal. DP Ruto has told off ODM Party leader Raila Odinga over recent attacks by the Raila that he is corrupt.

DP Ruto Accuses Raila Of Looting 'Kazi Kwa Vijana Money' When He Was PM

This comes to just a day after Odinga, on Saturday, June 3, said that DP Ruto’s donations to churches and various groups are taxpayer money he acquired fraudulently. However, Ruto, in his response to the allegation during a church service in Umoja on Sunday, June 4, accused Raila of looting Kazi Kwa Vijana money when he was prime minister.

"What is he accusing me of, and yet money for youth was looted during his tenure as PM, people should be ashamed of themselves," Ruto said. 

Ruto said Odinga’s tenure in government was characterized by corruption and theft of money. Ruto added that it was only in Kenya where the opposition could purport to run the government, further stating that he is not ashamed of making donations in church and helping the lowly in society. KEMSA scandal The second in command also accused Raila of involvement in the KEMSA scandal by shielding people who took part in the scandal. DP William Ruto accused Raila Odinga of shielding people who took part in the KEMSA scandal.

“When we're in government, they were stealing from the government; now, that they are not in the government, they are still stealing through COVID-19 billionaires. Opposition runs corruption cartels in government; it is only in Kenya,” he added. Odinga had on Saturday said that he will arrest and jail all corrupt officials under the current Jubilee government should he assume power next year.

When we get into power, we will arrest all these thieves, and all the government money will be accounted for since we will put them for development," Raila said. And as the 2022 succession matrix hots up, the former premier seemingly turned his guns on DP Ruto, questioning the source of millions of shillings donated to churches and various groups. “The millions of money that you have been donating, where did you get them? The use are thieves who are supposed to be rotting in Shimo la Tewa,” he stated. This is yet another clear indication that Raila will be taking another stab at the top seat come, 2022 general elections.
