The officer went to the lady's house and demanded that she be returned or he would take his own life.

After the lady refused to return with him, the officer drained a 250ml bottle full of a water-like substance.

Recently, the shocking number of suicides has increased with males being the highest.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) data, 408 people commit suicide in Kenya each year. However, the figures could be exaggerated due to underreporting because it is widely stigmatized.

According to the WHO, the number of reported suicides in Kenya increased by 58 percent between 2008 and 2017, reaching 421.

Every day, approximately four Kenyans commit suicide. According to research, for every suicide, 135 people are personally affected, which means that suicide affects up to 6.3 million people each year.

Kenya is ranked 114th out of 175 countries in the World Population Review, putting it among the nations with the highest suicide rates worldwide. These are just statistics, and behind every number is a person, their memories, and their life.
