Acting Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu was on Wednesday 21st Morning forced to end her interview questions short towards Court of Appeal judge William Ouko.

During the interview, the acting Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu was courteously being reminded by the chairperson of the recruiting Judicial Service Commission Professor Olive Mugenda that her time was running out.

This will now go down in Kenyan history as it's the first time that the Deputy Chief Justice was being reminded to utilize her time well by the chairperson of the recruiting Judicial Service Commission.

"Madam DCJ, I hope you are almost through because your time is running out, “professor Olive Mugenda told Madam Mwilu.

This came at a time the search for the Chief Justice position enters day 8 that saw Court of Appeal president William Ouko being interviewed for the position at the Supreme Court, Nairobi.

The interviews are set to end on April 23. Other candidates who have already faced the combing panel are Justice Chitembwe, Justice Martha Koome, Philip Kipchirchi Murgor, Prof Patricia Mbote, Justice David Marete, Justice Nduma Nderi, and Senior Counsel Fred Ngatia.
