Activists Arrested After Protesting Towards Pupil`s Murder At School

Following the mysterious death of Hilda Achieng`s grade two daughter Jenniffer Mitchelle at the school premises in early May, Seven activists who went to the school to protest were arrested and spent their night at the Soweto prison on Tuesday 27th July.

The parent of the deceased has been demanding justice after her daughter, Jenniffer Mitchelle allegedly died at the school compound and her body was later dumped at the Mama Lucy Hospital for a coverup.

It is believed that on May 19, 2021, Mitchelle answered a question wrongly in class and a teacher allegedly beat her to death.

 “I waited for her to come back at 5 pm together with the other Grade 2 pupils but she did not. At around 5.30 pm, I asked her schoolmates but no one had seen her," Achieng stated

Grade two pupils who witnessed the incident were bribed with 30 shillings to never reveal or report the matter to their parents.
