AFC Leopards Receives a Major Financial Boost after Political Leaders Comes to Aid

AFC Leopards football club received a financial boost last night when key political leaders, the business community, and fans came together to raise Sh. 8m and exceed the Sh. 6m target that has been set for the night.

 H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta gave a personal contribution to Sh. 2m, its patron @Hon Musalia Mudavadi i gave Sh. 1m, Raila Odinga gave Sh. 1m, Hon. Eugene Wamalwa and friends gave Sh. 1.1m, Hon. Amina Muhammed who gave Sh. 730,000, Hon. Oparanya gave Sh. 500,000, Hon. Tim Wanyonyi gave Sh. 400,000 and pledged to support the team with Sh. 100,000 every month for 12 months.

Other leaders who contributed included. Chief Administrative Secretary, National Treasury, and planning, Eric Wafukho who gave Sh. 100,000, Stanley Livondo who gave Sh. 120,000, CAS Omuhaka who gave Sh. 50 000, Hon. Wangwe who gave Kshs 50,000, Hon. Petronila Were who gave Sh. 10,000 Ambassador Kenneth Vitisia who gave 10, 000, Chiggai Harriette who gave 10, 000.

Hon Musalia W Mudavadi had earlier on given Sh. 630,000 which was used to secure a title deed for the AFC so that they could undertake the construction projected which will give AFC a home.

The leaders gave the strongest indication of coming together ahead of the 2022 elections so that Western Kenya speaks with one voice and makes use of its numbers to secure its political and economic fortunes.  The first assignment is mobilizing the community to register as voters.
