Alarm Over Rising Covid-19 Infections, With 410 New Cases Yesterday

Of late the nation has been recording an increasing number of infections, with experts blaming public reluctance over measures put in place to tame the outbreak.

Health Ministry on Friday announced another 410 new Covid-19 infections, raising fears over the numbers that have continued rising of late.

The rising infections concur with the time when the country is expected to receive its first Covid-19 vaccines' batch early next month.

In yesterday's cases, 368 are Kenyan nationalities, while the rest are from foreign nations. Men have continued leading with the highest of infections, today posting 267 cases out of the total. 

At the same time, recoveries have also continued going high, with the number now standing at 86,521 after another 24 patients got healed.

On a sad note, six more lives were lost on Friday, pushing the fatalities to 1,853. Nationwide, 342 patients are being hospitalized, while another 1,420 are on home-based care.

Out of the hospital admissions, 61 patients are under the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), whereby 25 are under ventilation, 27 under supplementary oxygen, and another 9 patients under keen observation.
