Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu has suspended Alchemist Bar's trading license due to racial discrimination accusations and noise pollution.

For the past two days, the Westlands-based bar has been under criticism for allegedly discriminating against black customers.

According to Nairobi Governor's Director of Communications Jacob Elkana, Kananu has ordered a review of the alleged events, with a thorough report to be tabled in her office within five working days.

Ten officials at the Alchemist bar have been arrested after a video of Kenyans reportedly being racially divided at the entrance to the entertainment joint went popular on social media.

The officials will be arraigned as authorities still investigating the incident. The ten were arrested after Nairobi governor Anne Kananu canceled the establishment's business license following a public outcry.

Netizens requested the arrest of the security professionals involved, as well as the closure of the entertainment venue, which has previously been in the news for similar allegations after the video went viral.

Meanwhile, the club has temporarily halted operations to allow the Nairobi County Government to conduct investigations.

On Saturday, a viral video in which a bouncer was seen supposedly kicking a Black patron out of a line that appeared to only feature non-Black customers.
