The mind is a muscle that always needs relaxation after a hectic day of overthinking and maybe creating ideas or calculating things. Engaging in some activities after your hectic day will help calm down your mind. This could also apply in situations of anger and you do not want to regret your actions. You relax and calm down your mind before engaging in any kind of fights or arguments, do it in sound mind.
Try a guided meditation.
It is flabbergasting what meditation could do to our brains. We have so many apps and programs that help us calm our minds down. You learn to let go of what is bothering you through meditation. Listening to calming voices or music will always help you out.
Redo your negative thoughts.
Probably it is your negative thinking that will keep pulling you back and over working your brains. Try reframing them into positive ones. Draining yourself with negative thoughts will never help you. Exchange them into promising ones.
Staying in the same surrounding could be the reason why we are not relaxed. Try going out and take some fresh air. Have a walk and get to see other things aside from what you are used to already. Lying around the bed and navigating around the same environment might cause fatigue. Go out for fresh air and new experiences.
Take a warm bath.
It is said that taking warm showers relaxes our muscles and it is true, the mind is one of them. Take slow breathes and imagine washing away all your thoughts in the shower. This will make you feel relaxed.

Writing can also be therapeutic to some people. It is advisable to put in to writing your thoughts and you will feel like you just talked to someone.
