Ghananian star Andre Ayew has been released by Swansea City following the expiry of his contract.

The 31-year old winger joined Swansea on 10 June, 2015 from Marseille where he stayed there for a year before going to West Ham United.  

During his time in Ligue 1 side, Ayew made 160 appearances scoring 44 goals. He went on loan spell to Lorient and Arles-Avignon.

In West Ham, where he on 8 August 2016 for a record fee of £20.5 million and a three-year contract. He made 50 appearances and scored 12 goal in all competitions. 

On 31 January, 2018, Ayew returned to Swansea on a contract of £18 to 20 million until the end of 2020/21 season. Fenerbahce signed him on loan on July, 2018 where he stayed there until 2019.

In this second stint, he has scored 35 goals in 106 matches. He is Swansea’s leading goal scorer and also the highest earner in terms of salary.

Ayew is believed to have left the club after it failed to earn promotion to Premier League, having lost 2-0 to Brentford in the play-offs. Swansea would have renewed his contract if the team had made it to the top tier league. That was his last game in Wembley and his time at Liberty Stadium.
