Autopsy Establishes Cause Of Geoffery Gitobu's Death

According to the post-mortem findings made public on Wednesday, August 24, the deceased died as a result of a blood clot in an artery.

The autopsy results cancel out any foul play that had been rumored to be a cause of Gitobu’s death.

On August 22, Gitobu collapsed and died in front of the IEBC offices in Nanyuki, Laikipia County.

Gitobu’s brother hurried him to a hospital after hearing him complain of feeling lightheaded while they were driving about town.

His health got worse and he was urgently moved to a nearby private hospital but was announced dead on arrival.

John Tarus, the commander of the Laikipia East sub-county police, denied online rumors that his passing was connected to the recently-concluded August 2022 General Election.

There had been rumors that Gitobu’s demise may have been planned and arranged by unnamed people.

The chief of police noted that they had classified the incident as a case of sudden death while awaiting the results of the autopsy.

Gitobu, who owned several businesses in Nanyuki town, was a well-known businessman.
