Bayern hammering as Borussia march on to next stage.

German champions Bayern Munich had a night to forget as they crashed out of the DFB POKAL after an exhilarating display from Borussia Monchengladbach allowed them to thump the Bayern faithful 5-0 in the DFB POKAL 1/16 last night in Borussia Park.

Borussia Monchengladbachs Algerian defender Ramy Bensebaini celebrates his equalizer in the 1/16 DFB POKAL against Bayern Munich. Borrusia were on a rampage as they humbled the German Champions 5-0

The hosts had no time to waste and were off to an electric start as Kouaudio Konè opened the scoring only two mins into the game.

Coachless Bayern Munich struggled to gain momentum and Borussia knowing this took it to their advantage as they ripped the Bavarian backline time after time.

Ramy Bensebaini made it 2-0 after being teed up Jonas Hofmann and that's when the floodgates really began to open.

Bensebaini then added a third from the penalty area after Hernandez brought down Embolo in the six yard area.

Bayern struggled to make amends as Serge Gnabry shot was easily halted by Yans Sommer while a Leroy Sanè effort was curbed by a last-ditch tackle by Joe Scally.

The second period didn't get any better for the sextuple winners as two back-to-back defensive slips led to Switzerland international Breel Embolo bagging a six minute brace before the 60th minute to eradicate any chance of a Bayern comeback.

Following the result, Monchengladbach advance to the next round while Bayern crush out of the second round yet again.
