'BBI Reggae is still on'- Says Raila Odinga

ODM leader Raila Odinga has exited his fans in Kondele, Kisumu after he assured them that the Building Bridges Initiative {BBI } is still on despite the court ruling it as null and void.

He declared that 'reggae' is back, terming the BBI court setback as something the process will overcome.

The former prime minister was in Kisumu to meet up with Kisumu Governor  Anyang` Nyong`o, Members of County Assemblies, and ODM officials.

However, According to Odinga in his tweet post, he went to Kisumu to inspect the preparations for the upcoming Madaraka Day celebrations on 1st June at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium.

Apparently, this year's Madaraka Day celebrations will be greatly affected.

This is after the interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho stated that the Madaraka day celebrations that will take place in Kisumu at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium will only be attended by 3000 people.

According to PS kibicho, this is due to the increased cases of Covid 19 in the country and most especially in the lake region where the new Indian Covid 19 variant is speedily spreading.

Jomo Kenyatta Stadium can accommodate a capacity of 35000 people.

However, PS kibicho advised that people who will be invited will be then required to put on their face masks, sanitize and maintain social distance as one of the guidelines by the Health ministry.

On the other hand, the celebrations will be live-streamed for people who won't be able to attend to watch.
