Bed 'bags' Villagers in Tharaka Nithi
It’s been since the invasion of Bedbugs in Kandungu village in Mara, Tharaka Nithi County is giving the residents sleepless nights despite efforts to eliminate the parasite being futile.

The locals have urged the government, NGOs, and individuals to intervene fearing the parasite could spread diseases in the community.
Chuka University Vice-Chancellor Erastus Njoki on Monday officiated the mass fumigation exercise that’s expected to continue for weeks and also urged the County Government of Tharaka Nithi to improve the area's health standards.
“After fumigating all infected homesteads we will wait for two weeks and then spray again to make sure that the threat is no more,” said Njoka.
