Brentford's Yoane Wissa celebrates his goal against Liverpool

A late goal by Yoane Wissa ensured Brentford snatched a point from Liverpool in a 3-3 draw at the Brentford Community Stadium in one of the most sensational matches of the day if not the best.

Brentford opened the scoring at the half hour mark when Ethan Pinnock converted an Ivan Toney cross. The celebrations didn't last as 4 mins later Liverpool levelled after Jordan Henderson launched a perfect point cross that found Portuguese Forward Diogo Jota who nodded it home. Jota has been ruthless with his head specifically his Liverpool tenure as 5 of his 12 Premier League goals for Liverpool being headers.

Jota almost doubled the lead after Curtis Jones deflection but David Raya stood his ground in the sticks and made a fantastic save. Raya was however no match for Mo Salah as the Egyptian Pharaoh took the ball and volleyed it home scoring his 100th goal in Liverpool colours.

Brentford weren't ready to back down and pulled one back from a close range Vitaly Janelt strike. Curtis Jones then bent one that went past Raya unable to grasp the ball.

Brentford would have the last laugh as they scored from a series of pinball drama in the box and the ball would find Wissa who would lift the ball past Allison Becker. The draw ensured Brentford avoided back to back home losses since 2018 while Liverpool blew the chance to go 3 points clear in the ongoing title race.
