Bhang Worth Ksh.500,000 Seized In Kiambu

On Thursday, police in Kiambu seized six sacks and 53 polythene bags of illegal substance believed to be marijuana in Kiganjo.

The substance was taken from a suspected dealer known as Sammy Boy and is claimed to have an estimated street value of Ksh. 500,000.

“The dusk operation directed to a house linked to a suspect identified as Samuel alias Sammy Boy of Ucekeine Mundoro area where the haul of bhang with an estimated street value of Ksh. 500,000 was retrieved from the suspect's two-bedroom house,” read the NPS statement.

According to the National Police Service (NPS) the drugs were discovered hidden in bags and packages after security personnel combed the neighborhood.

The suspect was able to get away however the police are searching for him.

“The suspect, who narrowly escaped police dragnet, is being sought to answer to appropriate charges.” stated NPS.

NPS has reaffirmed its commitment to seeing that all drug-related offenses are prosecuted and has urged the public to report any incidents.

“The National Police Service remains focussed in the war against drug and substance abuse and urges the public to support the gains through sensitization campaigns and sharing of prompt information,” NPS stated.
