According to Itumbi, recording his statement would amount to wasted efforts as justice would not be served.

Speaking at the ACK church in Kitharani, Gichungu, Kirinyaga County during a thanksgiving event on Sunday 13th, he termed DCI`s demand for his statement as ridiculous, claiming they have the ploy to cover up the atrocity he alleges the state had melted on him.

Instead of requesting a statement from him, he challenged the DCI to conduct its own investigation.

“DCI, why are you demanding a statement from me? You should investigate yourself because as far as this case is concerned you are the criminal! Therefore, you should investigate yourself,” Itumbi said.

Itumbi stated that he would gather a group of young people to join him at the DCI's office to give video footage of the purported kidnapping.

“I will not sit with you but will just present the video evidence to you which I will leave to you to do whatever you want with it. I know you will do nothing about it anyway, but as a law-abiding citizen I will present the evidence that is in my possession,” Itumbi added.

Itumbi`s move declining to record his statement comes barely a month after Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai on his #EngageTheIG on Twitter stated that they were still waiting for Itumbi to file his record.

The IG answered the question after a fan asked him what actions they've taken in regard s to Itumbi``s abduction case.

"When will we know the truth about the issue of Itumbi?#EngageTheIG" a fan asked on Twitter.

"We are still waiting for him to record an official statement on his account of events as investigations continue into the alleged abduction" IG replied.

The outspoken blogger revealed his side of the tale on Friday 14th, alleging that his captors tortured and stripped him in an attempt to get him to modify his political views.

“It is a must you change your political persuasion to match that of the ‘boss’,” he recalls.

“Who is the ‘boss’? he retorted back at the kidnappers, ‘Slap, blow, tightening of handcuffs.”

This comes after he was abducted on 23rd December from a barbershop on Kiambu Road. He was later found dumped naked in Lucky Summer, Kasarani, with injuries on his body.

On 28th December, Kenya`s Deputy President William Ruto visited the then-ailing Itumbi at the hospital to see his recovery process.

The DP later took to his official Twitter page to which he meant that Itumbi's attack appears to have been orchestrated by the police.
