The United Democratic Alliance’s bid to get total control of the Rift Valley region ahead of the 2022 general elections has received a major boost following the latest acquisition from the rival party – the Kenya African National Union (KANU).

With the supremacy battle raging on between UDA and KANU, the party linked to Deputy President William Ruto has managed to attract a veteran politician from Rift Valley – Musa Sirma.

The former Member of Parliament for the Eldama Ravine Constituency was on Monday officially received to UDA.

New additions to the party of the hustlers have always been announced with the signature photo at the stairs of Ruto’s offices – and it was the same case for Sirma, once a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

The former MP was received by DP Ruto alongside Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany.

While introducing the new UDA member, Kositany said despite state threats and intimidations, the UDA party was still growing.

“Despite the intimidation, threats and deep state capture our team is growing. It’s not over yet,” tweeted the legislator – alongside photos with the former MP.

Musa Sirma once served as the Minister for East African and Regional Cooperation.

His move to UDA is a major blow to KANU that has been positioning itself as an alternative party in Rift Valley region.

KANU party leader Gideon Moi who is also the Senator of Baringo has been engaged in a supremacy battle with Deputy President William Ruto.
