Bodaboda Riders Warned from Causing Chaos in Kakamega County

Speaking in Butere after hosting a series of sessions that gathered together the riders, George Ateka, the area bodaboda chairman warned the bodaboda riders from causing mayhem and those found will forfeit their licenses. Ateka remarked that the measure was to prevent riders who have a habit of causing chaos at political rallies.

"Bodaboda riders have been widely blamed for sparking violence during election campaigns. This time around, anyone who will be found engaging in violence will be barred from engaging in bodaboda activities," he stated.

Ateka urged the riders to allow politicians to sell their manifestos and to listen to them before making their final decisions.

"Politicians will try to persuade you to vote for them. They will come with sweet-smelling and appealing manifestos to win you. Just listen to them and review their manifestos before making a decision," added Ateka.

According to online sources, politicians are said to frequently hire bodaboda riders to join their procession whenever they attend rallies.
