Politicians are urging the government to designate Tuesday a public holiday in order to prevent upsetting the schedules of Kenyans who expect to vote.

One of the figures urging CS Matiang'i to issue a three-day holiday for Kenyans to travel and vote upcountry was former nominated senator Paul Njoroge.

Individuals who live far away will need to travel on August 8, and on September 9 will be election day in Kenya. On October 10, those who traveled upcountry will need to return before returning to work on November 11.
