A butchery attendant based in Embakasi, Nairobi county lost his life on Sunday evening after being caught up in a fierce fire exchange between two office cops.

The fierce shootout featured a police officer and a Kenya Defense Force (KDF) officer. The two were allegedly fighting over a woman.

The meat seller died as he tried shielding the KDF officer from his colleague's wrath. "When he came back, he had a gun. The KDF guy was still at the scene speaking to some people...

...When the soldier realized that the officer had a gun and that he had cocked it, he ran into the butchery to seek refuge," the butchery owner told the press.

The butcher was shot while attempting to close the door to protect the KDF officer. The victim succumbed shortly as medics tried rushing him to the hospital.

The issue of officers killing civilians has recently been rampant. In April, a man got killed after being shot still by an officer. The said man was attempting to rescue his young sister from the officer's wrath.
