Kenyan`s Capital Fm Radio is mourning the sadden death of their renowned Disk Jonkey Alex Murimi Nderi,  popularly known as DJ Lithium who took his own life at the station.

It is reported that Mr. Murithi died after ingesting a rat poison at the station's offices in Nairobi. 

His colleagues were reported to have found him lying unconscious, minutes after digesting the chemical.

After unsuccessful attempts to resuscitate him, the Capital FM personnel quickly requested assistance where they rushed him to Nairobi Hospital. The doctors attended to him but unfortunately, efforts to revive him were futile.

Other reports established by this publication indicated that the celebrated DJ left behind a suicide not which is yet to be revealed by his remaining family members.

His suicidal case comes barely days after he had pulled down all his social media pages.

However Confirming the incident, Kilimani Police Station OCS, Muturi Mbogo stated that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had taken over the matter.

He further stated that the deceased's body was sent to Lee Funeral Home for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.

The late DJ will be remembered as a multi-genre deejay who dabbled in everything from R&B to hip hop, with EDM and Afrohouse being his specialties.

Danny Munyi, Capital FM's Programmes Director, praised Nderi as a superb turntablist with a fantastic sense of humour.

Alex was a great addition to the larger Capital FM team, encompassing great talent as a disc jockey, producer and possessed an interesting ”right-wing” sense of humour.

He also added that the family`s decision must be highly respected at this time.

“To honour him, we will celebrate him for the passion he had for this company, his direct breakfast team, his fellow mixmasters and cherish the moments we shared with him,” he stated.
