High drama at Anfield and an excess of goals made for another exciting night of football in the UEFA Champions League, which saw scores see-saw, teams overwhelmed and players scoring with deadly proficiency.

As Liverpool and AC Milan took to the field, the match already carried with it the promise of fireworks, and it did not disappoint. Having taken the lead in the 9th minute through a Tomori own goal, Liverpool were in the driver’s seat for much of the first half despite a missed penalty by Saleh in the 14th minute. AC Milan however, weren’t down and out yet, grabbing the equalizer in the 42nd minute and taking the lead in the 44th minute with goals from Rebic and Brahim Diaz, respectively. Their lead proved to be short lived when Saleh netted the equalizer soon after the start of the second half and Henderson also getting on the scoresheet - and with what proved to be the winner on the night - with goals in the 49th and 69th minutes.

In what turned out to be a fast-paced, tough and tricky encounter, where both teams looked likely to score with any given attack, Real Madrid edged out Inter Milan with a late 89th minute goal from Brazilian Rodrygo.

Elsewhere in Europe, Manchester City and Ajax won their games decisively with a deluge of goals, as Man City saw off Leipzig 6-3, despite a hattrick for Leipzig’s Nkunku, while Ajax beat Sporting Lisbon 5-1, with Ajax’s Haller grabbing four of their five goals on the night.
