Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel says that N’golo Kante and Edouard Mendy are fit for Champions League final.

The two players have recovered from their injuries ahead of the clash. Kante had sustained a thigh problem when they played against Leicester City. Mendy on the other hand suffered an injury when he collided with the goal post during the match against Aston Villa on the last day of the season.

The recoveries has boosted the Blues since they have no other injury scare in that the 25-man squad is ready to claim their second European most coveted trophy.

“It is the best news ever, no injuries and I hope it stays like this until after the training today,” said Tuchel.

The German expressed his sentiments about the mood in the club’s camp saying that they are focused, disciplined and concentrated.

“I would say I have full trust in everybody once it is about hunger, always on the highest level in sport it comes down to the question of how badly do you want it. But I felt us very concentrated, very focused, very disciplined in the build-up of this week,” the German added.

“I feel us with genuine confidence, which is very nice to have, and a very nice feeling to arrive in a final with. We had two training sessions in London, one yesterday we did a bit of a tactical session because today is live.

“So today is the last training, to find out the last details, get the last feeling and more importantly for the players to get a feeling about the stadium. Feel it, smell it, and then the occasion is coming closer. And from dinner today we will have a countdown with two meetings tomorrow, and the big match coming up.” he concluded.

Chelsea are playing their third Champions League final and are hoping to win it for the second time in nine years. In the season 2011/12, they beat Bayern Munich on penalties after the match ended in a 1-1 draw to claim their first title having lost to Manchester United in 2008.

Manchester City however, are playing their maiden Champions League final having reached the semi final stage twice, in seasons 2015/16 and 2020/21. They lost to Real Madrid in 2016 but overcame PSG in 2021 to reach to their first final.
