City Road To Be Renamed After Football Star Legend Joe Kadenge
Justifying the renaming push, MCA Waithera Chege stated that just like other heroes and heroines have been receiving honours through the renaming of places, so should Kadenge.
Although he may not be alive to receive his honors, fallen football star Joe Kadenge will be honored by having a Road named after him.
To achieve that, the City-County members recently reached a consensus over changes that will see Kapiti Crescent Road linking South B Estate renamed Joe Kadenge Crescent Road.
Following the declaration by the region's Ward Rep. Ms. Waithera Chege, the Assembly’s Implementation Committee will inform the Nairobi County Executive through writing, after which the City Hall should confirm the renaming in 90 days' time.
The legend breathed his last about two years ago, at the age of 84, having fought stroke for a long period of time. Many hailed him as a football star Kenya has ever had.
Kadenge's football star started shining as early as the 1960s when he played for Maragoli United and Abaluyha United in the Kenya Premier.
His immense contribution to the Kenyan republic placed him among heroes who deserve payback for their efforts in keeping Kenya's face upfront.
