On March 17, 2022, Cosmas Kaai Kinyua and Wycliffe Nyangena Ogari, who appeared before the Milimani Law Courts, are accused of committing a felony at Wood Vale Groove Road in the Westlands region.

The charging sheet stated in part, "You kidnapped/abducted Nickson Sambach, a police officer on duty, so that the said police officer may be subjected to risk or grave harm."

According to a police report, the complainant was on duty with his coworkers when he pulled over the accused of obstruction on the road.

"Cosmas Kaai Kinyua and Wycliffe Nyangena Ogari had parked a vehicle with the registration number KCT 579Q in the middle of a public road along Wood Vale Groove, obstructing other road users."

According to the complaint, the officer boarded the motor vehicle and told him to take the said car to the Parklands Police station for the offence of causing an obstruction.

Instead of driving the vehicle to Parklands Police Station, the accused individual drove it at a high speed towards Thika Road with the police officer on board.

The police officer implored with the taxi driver to halt so that he might alight, but the taxi driver never responded to his requests, according to the court.

They dropped him near the Githurai roundabout afterwards.

Before Chief Magistrate Wendy Micheni, the two pleaded not guilty and were released on a Ksh300, 000 bond.
