CS Matiangi` Orders Disruption Of UDA Meeting In Meru
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi has been accused by Blogger Dennis Itumbi of ordering the Disruption of United Democratic Alliance Party { UDA} Meeting that was held on Monday 31st in Meru County.
According to information sourced by Bright Kenya news, the police in Meru were forced to use tear gas canisters to disperse the UDA members meeting convened by party Secretary General Veronica Maina citing a breach of COVID-19 regulations.
Ironically this comes at a time on Sunday 30th President Uhuru Kenyatta and his opposition Leader Counterpart Raila Amollo Odinga alongside other leaders were in Kisumu addressing the Kisumu residents ahead of June 1st Madaraka Day Celebrations where Covid 19 protocols and regulations were not adhered to including the 1.5 meter Social Distancing.
According to Blogger Dennis Itumbi in his tweet to condemn the police actions he stated:
CS @FredMatiangi orders a Meru DO to disperse a @UDAKenya aspirants meeting in a hotel. Kifua, Intimidation na madharau. Meru aspirants firmly on their seats daring police to arrest them all. Aspirant Forums in Western and Nyanza allowed. But in Mt.Kenya STOPPED! pic.twitter.com/MZ3jmfCj8o
