Date Cake Recipe

Date cake is a sweet and tasty cake that has a moist texture. This cake is jammed with chunks of dates which gives it more flavor, you can add nuts to the cake to make it crunchier.

Date Cake Recipe


1½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup margarine/butter

1 cup sugar

3 eggs

1 cup dates

1 cup water

1 tsp vanilla essence

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp cardamom powder


Soak the seedless dates in ¼ cup of hot water until soft and pulpy

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl

Whisk margarine and sugar until fluffy

Add flour to the mixture and fold lightly as you add one egg at a time

Add the date paste and vanilla essence to the batter and whisk to a smooth consistency.

Line the baking tin with parchment paper

Pour the batter into the baking tray and bake at 350 degrees for 40 -50 minutes.

Allow the cake to cool, then serve and enjoy
