Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested three suspects in connection to the murder of an Egerton University Student.

The body of the student- Eunice Muthoni was discovered dumped in a river on December 7, 2020.

Investigations have indicated that Njeri's murder was orchestrated and carried out by her two friends: Diana Muthiomi and Tamar Wambora Njeru, who are also students of Egerton University.

Police told Citizen Digital that Diana suspected that Njeri was having an affair with her husband Eric Maingi Mutuma.

Investigators further discovered that a day prior to Njeri being strangled to death, as per the autopsy report by Dr. Wangari Wambugu, her two friends had left the town, leaving her in the company of Mutuma.

On returning later the same day, a heated argument ensued, with Diana accusing her friend of trying to steal her husband.

The next day, her friends, as the police continued, summoned Njeri for the meeting to settle the argument- the last time she was seen alive.

The forensic analysis placed Diana at the crime scene, confirming that she was at the scene where the body was discovered.

Diana’s husband is also in police custody and is facing electronic fraud charges after 722 sim cards and 7 mobile phones were found at their house.

The three will be arraigned at the Nakuru Law Courts on Monday, February 22 as the manhunt for their accomplices who helped dispose of the body intensifies.
