According to the Kirinyaga County Criminal Investigative Officer(CCIO) Kiplagat Korir,  "the police took longer time to identify him as his face was disfigured and had injuries on his body beyond immediate recognition. Since the body was found in the riverbed, they had to take the fingerprint and book the body to the Kerugoya morgue." he added.
