DP Ruto: I Don’t Want A Quarrel With Jubilee, I Wish Them Well

Speaking to a local media in Kisumu on Wednesday, Ruto said he respects whatever shall come out of Jubilee’s National Delegates Convention (NDC) scheduled on November 30.

“We want to respect whatever decision they will make as a party, we would not want to contest,” said the DP.

Ruto stated that he is focused on housekeeping in his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party. 

“I think they are organizing themselves to deal with the future and we are also organizing ourselves to engage in the future of the country.”

Ruto, however, condemned the political atmosphere in Jubilee saying his decision to strengthen his own UDA outfit was influenced by lack of audience with Jubilee’s leadership.

“After a lot of soul searching with other Jubilee members we have decided to move on to UDA and it is because our membership in Jubilee was no longer attainable… we couldn’t get the engagement we were looking for,” said Ruto.

“It was so hard to participate because the people who managed jubilee mismanaged it and the only meetings that were held were to kick out people,” he added.

Deputy President William Ruto is currently on a tour of the Nyanza region, where on Wednesday he completed his tour of Kisumu before heading to Migori County.

Meanwhile, Jubilee Party’s failure to hold the NDC has so far prompted divisions inside the party, with one fraction backing President Uhuru Kenyatta and others supporting his Deputy William Ruto.
