Speaking on Tuesday, April 6th at the Kisumu Central container, CS Magoha said the marking of multiple choice papers was complete with Insha and composition papers still in progress.

“We had a schedule and in the next two weeks, the results will be out,” Magoha stated.

The CS further urged the principals to allow those students with fee arrears to be allowed to sit for the KCSE examinations.

Magoha also cited the challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic as some of the examiners were unable to show up for the marking exercise due to the Covid-19 restrictions imposed within the five counties i.e. Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajaido, Nakuru, and Machakos.

However, the CS said this did not interfere with the national examinations schedule.

"As I said, we are on track. We shall keep updating you on the progress, and we shall keep sharing any events that we find necessary,” he said.

The CS has recently complained of numerous instances of examination irregularities as he unveiled some of the tricks used to cheat the exams. Magoha cited sneaking of phones, writing of answers on masks, and sneaking the exam paper to university students for mass circulation.

Over 30 schools across the country are currently under investigation with examination irregularities claims.

“Nobody should ever imagine that in this day and age, you will do what you used to do many years ago. We shall ensure that the sanctity of these examinations is restored,” said Magoha.
