Education Cabinet Secretary, Prof George Magoha, has assured learners in Baringo County that their safety is priority and have converged them in one center to sit for KCPE national exams today.

Professor Magoha was speaking today as he supervised the start of the national exams in Kakamega primary school earlier today.

While overseeing the distribution of exams in the schools, the Cabinet Secretary reassured the parents that the safety of students will be provided as they are working together with Ministry of Internal security to actualize that. He also assured the learners that food will be provided to them as they progress with their exams.

“We have availed helicopters, and enough security, and we have converged the students in few schools for the sit their exams. I am not worried because I am sure the learners will surely sit for the exams. They are going to be fed and the will sleep in those schools. The Minister in charge of Security docket, Dr. Fred Matiangi  has spoken to me and we have put all measures in place to ensure that our learners get to sit for national exams,”  said Magoha.

The Kenya Certificate of Primary School( KCPE)  exams started today with eyes on the county of Baringo which has been hit by banditry attacks recently as candidates seek to sit for the national exams.

Several families have been displaced including candidates but the Ministry of Education has assured them of government support to ensure that every registered candidate sits for the much anticipated national exams.
