Elgeiyo Marakwet Attacks Intensify
Bandit attacks in Elgeiyo Marakwet has so far claimed lives of two children in different attacks.

Marigat Sub-county hospital continues to host victims of bandit attacks in Elgeiyo Marakwet. The latest reports are of two people, one being a grade 5 pupil who was coming home for midterm break. Tyhis comes slightly after another attack that claimed lives of a grade 6 pupil in Chasegon area in West Pokot and a 12 year from the attacks.
The locals have expressed their frustrations about the ongoing bandits attacks despite presence of police in the area. One of the victims say that all they heard were gunshotswhich sent them into hiding and when they came out, he met his dead child`s body.
The survivors, including those who escaped hurt and some with gunshot wound, say that the bandits appear once out of nowhere and start shooting aimlessly . The residents say that they are yet to see the security deployed in the areas.
