Emotional Abuse As Root of Physical Abuse

Most of the emotional abuse cases are assumed, the victims rarely act against only to end up in injuries if not death.

Recently many gender-based violence cases have been reported. This occurs in either gender and causes death in some if not injuries. Before the physical abuse starts, the emotional abuse is evident. As much as most victims notice they are emotionally affected, they assume that things will change with time. It’s so unfortunate that in a large number of such cases the perpetrators end harming or killing the victims.

Signs that indicate emotional abuse

  • Manipulation:

The offender controls every decision you make and they always disapprove of your important opinions. A delay in replying to his or her texts can make him/her accuse you of infidelity. Gaslighting is also a way of manipulation whereby the manipulator always finds faults in your actions.

  • Sacarcim

The perpetrator uses jokes that will absolutely hurt your feelings and lower your self-esteem.

  • Blame you for their mistakes

They never apologize,  they escape and rather turn the accusations on you. You end up apologizing for a wrong you didn't commit.

  • Using your weakness/flaws to pin you down

Most emotional offenders use your flaws/weaknesses to lower your self-confidence. At times the flaws are physical appearance that you can’t change this is common by social media bullies. They also make your weaknesses look bigger than your flaws.

If you notice you are experiencing any of these red flag, take caution not to end up in depression. Confront the offender, consult the right channels that can help but if the behavior doesn't change, make your way out of the relationship or friendship.
