Machester City players celebrate a goal against bitter rivals Manchester United in the Premier League fixture at the OT. City were on a class of their own as they breezed past Ole's men 2-0 in convincingly fashion.

Following United's last fixtures most specifically the 5-0 humbling defeat to Liverpool at home turf as well as the 2-2 draw in mid-week performance against Atalanta in the Champions League, the last thing the Red Devils needed was to fall behind in the early stages but it seems Ole's men didn't get the memo as they did just that barely seven minutes in. Joào Cancelo pounced upon scrappy ball at the near post and sent a cross into the box in which Eric Bailly turned it into the back of his own net. Ole rallied his troops and Man United began building momentum, slowly growing into the game a little past the half-hour mark. United fullback Luke Shaw's reaving run enabled him to pick out 'Mr Champions League' Cristiano Ronaldo in the area and the Portuguese unleashed a low sweet left-footed volley but Ederson was quick to dispose of it.

Ole's men are certainly a ghost, a shadow, far fetch from the old Fergie title winning team's as they seemed quite disjointed and disoriented - running all over the place clueless on how to thwart Pep Guardiola's men.

No form of identity or system could be seen however United's spark of brilliance came at the defensive side of the pitch in the form of David De Gea, United's 'Messiah' for the day as he single-handedly kept United in the game, making impeccable saves denying Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus and even his fellow teammate Victor Lindelof as the Swedish came close to scoring United's second OG of the day. City were repetitively testing the home team and all this deemed too much for the Spaniard as Bernado Silva would latch on to a Cancelo in swinger, stick out a leg out to what seemed to be a sure outside ball and redirect it with the silkiest of touches, sending the ball into De Gea's near post as Spaniard was left hopelessly groping for the ball.

United had very few chances, with a Mason Greenwood 30-yard shot about as close as they could get to hammer out a comeback. United were quite lucky as the visitors could have gone even 5-0 up but failed to convert their chances. City continued to toy around with the Red Devils as Phil Foden's effort rattled off the lower woodwork. A City win was imperative as Guardiola's men look to reduce the deficit on Chelsea's lead at the top potentially for a few hours as the Londoners  take on Burnley later on in the evening. Meanwhile for United, it seems that a bounce back is rather difficult with Ole's job under serious scrutiny.
