Eric Omondi Arrested for Violating Provisions & Stage Play Act
Reports going rounds on social media are indicating that comedian Eric Omondi has been arrested for violating the provisions of the film and stage plays act Cap 222 by producing and distributing unauthorized video in the name of “ Wife Material”.
Christine Juma This is according to the Kenya Film Classification Board Compliance Officers in conjunction with Police officers from the Directorate of Criminal investigations Kenya { DCI}.
This comes at a time after An explicit video where one of Eric Omondi`s contestants is seen dancing half stark naked went viral on social media.
The video created an uproar amongst the netizens who later echoed for Hon. Ezekiel Mutua to hasten his actions towards it.

According to the Kenya Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222, it states the following:
(1) No person shall display any film at an exhibition to which the public is admitted or distribute such film unless he is registered as an exhibitor or distributor by the Board and issued with a certificate.
(2) No film or class of film shall be distributed, played, or broadcast, either publicly or privately, unless the Board has examined it and issued a certificate of approval in respect thereof.
(3) Any person who exhibits any film in breach of the provisions of subsection (1) or subsection (2) shall be guilty of an offense.
The Board will take all possible legal actions to curb the production and exhibition of unauthorized films on any platform meant for public exhibition.
However, Comedian Omondi is now expected to be arraigned in court for Violating the exhibition laws.
