According to him, the former senator had promised that he wouldn't shave until Ruto's opponents were beaten and the former Deputy President had taken the oath of office.

Additionally, he had instructed those traveling with him and growing beards to shave them off so they could contribute to making the country look presentable.

Linturi further claimed in a Facebook post that the new government will allow Kenyans to conduct their daily lives free from threats and extortion.

After years of suffering, he continued, Kenyans had finally earned their freedom, which would now allow for everyone's prosperity.

“Today Kenya heralds a new political order. Kenya ushers in a new political dispensation under the leadership of my friend, H.E President Dr. William Samoei Ruto. I promised that on the day President Uhuru Kenyatta hands over to Dr. Ruto and leaves office, I would simultaneously be shaving to signify a new era devoid of political intimidation and blackmail. I have shaved today! Freedom is finally here!” he posted.

Linturi`s new look emerged barely a week after he had been ordered by  Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua on September 11th to ensure that he shaves his hair during Ruto`s inauguration on 13th September.

"Mithika Linturi alisema hatanyoa ndevu mpaka wale watu wanaonyanyasa wengine wameenda nyumbani. Therefore, Mithika Linturi, the moment William Ruto places his Bible down on Tuesday, ensure that you shave your beard within one hour." Gachagua said during an interdenominational prayer session in Meru.
