Sonko was on Tuesday picked from the Muthaiga Police Station where he spent his night and taken to the DCI headquarters in Kiambu Road for more grilling.

The officials questioning the embattled governor said Sonko will be arraigned in court on Tuesday to answer on the seven charges of robbery with violence and five charges of assault.

The former governor spent a better part of Monday being grilled by the DCI officials following his remarks on the 2017 election violence but he refused to record a statement saying he had been gagged by the court.

Lawyers John Khaminwa, Evans Ondieki, Assa Nyakundi, and George Kithi are the ones representing Sonko. The lawyers tried to plead with the police to release him on bail but their efforts were unsuccessful.

The summoning of Sonko came after the Interior Security PS Karanja Kibicho recorded a statement complaining he was wrongly accused of causing Mayhem in 2017.

Sonko is currently in the DCI offices for more grilling even as he waits for his fate to be determined by the court later in the day.
