Elvins Murimi, a Form Two student at Chuka Boys High School, was residing on the outskirts of Chuka town with his grandmother before his disappearance.

Family members and other villagers have been searching for Elvins in vain and are concerned that something terrible may have happened to him.

Before he vanished, Elvins' grandfather reported the youngster had been expelled from school for allegedly smoking bhang.

He claimed that the boy was evaluated for drug use at Chuka County Referral Hospital by the school administration, but he tested negative.

When the boy was returned to school with the negative results, the school refused to readmit him, claiming that he might be a drug dealer.

The grandfather said the discharge affected the brilliant boy, who had topped in Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams with 312 marks.

He added that the boy was innocent and a prefect had suspected him and denounced him to the administration.

The family has asked the government to assist in the search for the youngster, expressing concern that he may have made a poor decision.
