Following the health protocols put in place by the Ministry of Health to curb the spread of coronavirus, the football fans will not be able to attend the match between the Pharaohs and Harambee Stars today.

In a statement released by the Sports CS Amina Mohamed on Thursday morning, there will be tight security in and around the stadium during the match.

Today, Harambee Stars will be facing the Egyptian National team the Pharaohs in Group ‘G’ Afcon Qualifiers match at Kasarani Stadium.

Harambee Stars led by striker Michael Olunga who plays for Qatar’s Al-Duhail will face the likes of Mohamed Salah who plays for Liverpool, Elneny who plays for Arsenal among others.

CS Amina Mohamed reminded Kenyans that according to the sport guidelines and the Ministry of Sports safety protocols, only the players, official team handlers, assigned security, and match officials are allowed into the stadium.

Therefore Kenyans have been asked to support and cheer their national team from the comfort of their houses.

“We must all continue to do our part to contain the spread of coronavirus,” the CS said. The CS also wished the national team an enjoyable match.

Currently, Harambee stars are occupying fourth place in Group ‘G’ with three points while Egypt is leading with 8 Points followed by Comoros with the same points with Togo.
