The former FIFA and UEFA presidents, Sepp Blatter, and Michael Platini, have been found guilty of fraud charges for having illegally sanctioned a payment amounting to close to three million dollars. The six-year investigation concluded with the two men charged with fraud. The payment in context involved a transfer from FIFA’s boss, Mr. Blatter, to UEFA’s Mr. Platini, in the year 2011. Subsequent to a series of scandalous ethical operations involving FFA in 2015, both individuals were effectively banned from the game and forced to resign from their positions, while the Swiss Investigation was launched.

Switzerland’s Attorney-General (AOG) argues that Mr. Platini and Mr. Blatter are guilty of misappropriation, criminal mismanagement, and document forgery. Both ex-presidents in the soccer arena previously denied the charges and accusations. Mr. Platini is also charged with being an accomplice to fraud. His lawyer claims the allegations are wrong and there was enough evidence to dismiss the case long ago. On the other hand, Mr. Blatter, on the other hand, argues that the payment was made in good faith to cover backdated salary expenses. According to a statement from the Swiss Federal prosecutors, the payment desecrated FIFA’s assets and illegally enriched Michael Platini.
