Fluffy Vanilla Buttercream Recipe

This easy vanilla buttercream recipe is full of flavor. It has a lovely buttery vanilla flavor that's ideal for piping borders and buttercream cake decorations.

Fluffy Vanilla Buttercream Recipe

Ingredients

250 g unsalted butter

7 cups of icing sugar/powdered sugar

1/4  cup of whole milk

2 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp salt

Procedure

Cream the butter until smooth then add in the vanilla extract.

Add the powdered sugar and milk then whisk at medium speed until the powdered sugar is incorporated.

Whisk for 8-10 minutes while scraping the sides of the bowl occasionally.

Whisk the mixture slowly for 2 minutes to get rid of air pockets in the buttercream.

By now your buttercream will have a smooth consistency

If your buttercream is too thin, add a little more sugar; if it's too thick, add a little more milk.

 

This recipe makes about 4 cups of frosting which is enough to cover a two-layer cake in frosting. The buttercream can be frozen for at least three months in an airtight container.
