Form two student walked 35km and slept on the street after being sent home for not paying school fees

A student at Chavakali Boys High School was sent home for not paying school fees and had to walk 35 kilometers. The form two student after scoring 384 marks in the 2019 KCPE had to walk all the way home since he did not have bus fare. He had spent the better part of the night in Kakamega town on his way home to Trans Nzioa when security guards came to his aid and gave him a place to stay as they looked for a way to assist him. He appealed for someone to help him pay his school fees and a well-wisher stepped forward.

Eunice Nekesa took him in to stay the night. She reported that the boy is in good health and that being a woman she felt compelled to help him. Locals in the area are asking for the boy to be assisted by the leaders in that area and some hitting that such a bright boy should be a beneficiary of the Constituency Development Fund.

Kenyans on Twitter have also weighed in on this case one of the quotes caught on Twitter are;

“This is unbelievably cruel. As long as nothing is done to those that make such decisions, this will, unfortunately, happen again and again. Impunity will finish whatever little that remains of Kenya!” added Tyras Waiyaki.
