Over the weekend, four mutilated bodies were discovered abandoned at Kijabe Forest in Kiambu County.

The incident which has raised concerns among the area’s residents since it is an unusual occurrence and has prompted the police to launch an investigation.

The four bodies recovered on Saturday, June 18, and Sunday, June 19 bore deep incisions and missing private parts.

“All the four bodies had deep cuts to the neck and chopped private parts. We are now scared because this is new to this area,” One of the residents, Philip Kamau, told Nation.

The bodies were discovered when inhabitants of Lari filed an official complaint with the police.

The first body was discovered on Saturday, followed by three more on Sunday.

Lari Police Commander Adamson Furaha confirmed the tragedy and said that investigations are already underway to find the killers suspected of torturing the victims.

The victims are thought to have been murdered elsewhere before being placed into the thicket.

“We suspect that the four were killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped within this area.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to the mortuary at the Embu Referral Hospital.

The four bodies were discovered less than a month after two bodies were retrieved from the River Tana in Embu County.

The identities of the two bodies have still to be determined. The police chief in the region has invited residents to come forward with information that will help authorities discover the killers and identify the victims.
